    New events for 2010

    We are already getting organised for 2010 and have sent out letters asking for sponsorship.  Rushworth and Community Bank have leapt in with an offer to fund a circus workshop which has been happily accepted.  So if you ever wanted to learn to juggle, spin or diablo come to the Easter Festival next year.  And GREAT EXCITEMENT - on Easter Sunday will be the Working Draught Horses Muster at Moora (7km from Rushworth).  A wonderful chance to see these magnificent gentle giants working the old farm machinery.  There will also be gypsy caravan and wagons.  These shire horses will be taking part in the Easter Saturday street parade and there is a surprise organised with this group.

    Cirque Mystique

     
    The Cirque Mystique performance will be from 3pm-4pm at the Rushworth Town Hall at the top of High Street.
    ADMISSION IS $10 PER CHILD (UNDER 15) ADULTS ARE FREE IF ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE CHILD!
    The performers this year are 'Absolute Acrobatics'  who perform gravity defying feats of strength and balance; Mr Piccoloon the MC, comedian and magician; and Jacinta Rohan who is  performing two acts - hula hooping with contemporary dance and as a contortionist with different moves from last year.
    Bring the kids, bring yourself and thoroughly enjoy this entertainment.

    Enter a float for the Parade

    Come on - don't be shy.  Get together with friends or work collegues (good advertising) and enter a float for the Easter Heritage Festival Parade.  The theme this year is 'STORIES AND LEGENDS' - which gives you a wide range of subjects.  The quirkier the better and there will be prizes for various entries in the Parade.     Cirque Mystique

    A wonderful show with clown, juggler, contoursionist and other fascinating spectacles.  Colourful and funny. Children thoroughly enjoyed their show last year and so did all the adults.  See the photographs in our album and check out the website http://www.cirquemystique.com.au/

    Ballyreagan Bush Band

    I guarantee your toes won't stop tapping listening to this great bush band.
    They will start playing about 9 am and continue though the morning and into the afternoon.
    Grab a coffee and a bite to eat and enjoy listening to this lively Irish and Bush music.

    Helena Gibson - Puppeteer

    Helena Gibson will be bringing her wonderful puppets and wandering around introducing them to people.
    These puppets are so full of character - just like Helena herself - and are a delight for children and adults alike.

    Main information

    Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival will be held on Saturday 11th April in the main street of the historic mining town of Rushworth.  There are lots of activities planned for all the family in this heritage listed street.  This is the time of year the community comes together and shows off the beautiful surroundings and the friendly people of Rushworth. 
    So far we have planned:
    • Wood and produce auction
    • Parade
    • Vintage games
    • Market
    • Dog show
    • Ballereagan Bush Band
    • Cirque Mistique
    • Film in the evening
    • Tug of war between the two pubs
    • Childrens entertainment
